It’s an unfortunate reality — sometimes accidents happen. Whether you were trying out an extreme sport, or just encountered an unexpected olive seed in your salad, accidents can lead to chipped, cracked, or missing teeth.
We wear our smiles everyday, so showing the world a chipped or missing tooth might mean significant discomfort and embarrassment.
At Harbor Dental Group, our doctors make use of top-of-the-line technology to restore your beautiful smile. Our dedication, professionalism, and expertise in the most advanced dental techniques available ensures you’ll never be afraid to smile.
Crown: We use crowns to restore teeth that have decayed, been worn down, or cracked to the extent that they cannot be corrected with a regular filling. When some fillings separate from your teeth, due to contracting and expanding over time, they may cause tooth decay if they’re not replaced with a crown. That decay can eventually lead to cracking.
Fitting a crown requires only two visits: one for the initial impression, and one to fit the crown. Other than some increased sensitivity, it’s a relatively pain-free experience.
Root Canal: Each year, millions of teeth are saved by root canal procedures. At Harbor Dental Group, our doctors can complete a root canal treatment in just one or two appointments. Contrary to popular belief, a root canal procedure is no more uncomfortable for you, the patient, than the average filling.
When tooth decay spreads down into the pulp, and the pulp itself becomes infected, you may need a root canal. During a root canal procedure, your doctor will remove this pulp and fill the cavity left behind. A root canal will stop the infection, let your tooth heal, and prevent the infection from spreading to other teeth.
A root canal will relieve your tooth pain and restore your smile. It will also save your natural tooth, and provide comfortable chewing, restore a normal biting experience, leave your smile with its natural appearance, and protect your other teeth from undue strain.
Fillings: Fillings are used to restore and repair minor cavities, to repair defects in teeth, to repair tooth decay, and to replace older fillings that have worn down with time.
White, metal-free fillings match the color of your teeth perfectly. These fillings are either fabricated right in your doctor’s office, or in a laboratory. Traditional metal fillings may also be available.
Dentures and Partials: Full or partial dentures are an effective dental solution for patients who are missing some or all of their teeth. Unfortunately, many dentures are ill-fitting or loose, resulting in frustration and discomfort.
Oftentimes, we find that the structures that support your full or partial dentures (arches and ridges) can’t provide the stability you need to support your dentures for comfort, eating, and speaking.
Our doctors can provide an array of implants to “anchor” your dentures. From 2 teeth, to 8-10 teeth in in arch, we can provide you with a dental prosthesis that will nullify your frustration, embarrassment, and anxiety.
